The scope of work for this project included the supply and installation of a Vortex 4000 Storm Water Treatment System. Ancillary work involved installation of all associated piping, concrete and asphalt removal, soil excavation and stockpiling, disposal of contaminated soil, treatment and disposal of groundwater, and installation of concrete and new asphalt paving. During the course of work, AEC had to overcome the complications of working along the shoreline of the Duwamish Waterway in Seattle, WA. We installed sheet pile shoring and excavated below the water table to install the 40’ x 14’ x 8’ vault. Over 50,000 gallons of tidally-influenced groundwater was removed from the excavation area for the installation of the stormwater treatment system vault.
