Location: Beaver, Oregon
Client: Tillamook Estuaries Partnership for the Bureau of Land Management
Contract Value: $579,928
The Bureau of Land Management was performing this work in an effort to correct two fish passage barrier culverts located on Fan Creek in Tillamook County, OR. The original culverts were blocking access to approx. one mile of high quality spawning and rearing habitat for Coho salmon and Steel head trout on Fan Creek and its tributaries. AEC was contracted by the BLM’s representative, the Tillamook Estuaries Partnership, to furnish labor, equipment, supplies, and materials for the removal of existing culverts and the installation of a new, structural plate, metal arch culvert and a three-sided concrete box culvert. Both culverts were set on poured-in-place concrete footers. Our work also involved the installation of two (2) rock weirs at Lower Fan Creek. To support this work, AEC provided and installed all slope protection rip rap, reconstructed the stream channels, configured new stream beds, reconstructed roadways, performed traffic control, and erosion control measures. As the Contractor, we supplied all materials necessary to complete the work including poured in place culvert footings, riprap, fill and aggregates, paving meterials, and slope stabilization materials.
