General Laborer

AEC is seeking reliable, hardworking General Laborers to perform various physical labor-related activities on heavy construction projects. The successful candidate must be capable of safely bending, walking, standing and lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly in order to perform safely and efficiently on construction sites, as well as be able to demonstrate a strong work ethic and possess the ability to follow instructions quickly and proficiently.

Duties:

  • Carry out multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment;

Project Manager/Estimator

AEC is seeking a qualified, experienced Project Manager/Estimator to join our management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safe and profitable execution of heavy construction projects.

Specific Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Determining work priorities based on design documents, plans, and specifications and coordinates work activities within the project area;
  • Performing efficient coordination of field and office activities on assigned projects, including job scheduling activities;
  • Performing accurate estimating of assigned and selected projects;
  • Developing work approach and cost estimate as well as obtaining quotes from subcontractors and vendors;
  • Determining resource allocation associated with equipment, manpower, materials, etc;
  • Purchasing materials economically and expeditiously for projects;
  • Acting as Company Liaison between Owner, Architect, Engineer, Consultant, etc;
  • Performing hands-on, physical construction work in the field whenever necessary to complete work;
  • Maintaining strict daily reports, safety inspections, and other field documentation; and
  • Maintaining cost records on work performed and materials used on site.

Qualifications:

  • Thorough knowledge and background in the construction industry, specifically environmental construction activities, such as: heavy earthmoving, remedial excavation, fuel and tank-related work, habitat restoration, bridges and culverts, access roads, remediation systems (SVE, etc.), stormwater management, etc;
  • Thorough knowledge and background in estimating and managing the type of jobs normally performed by the company;
  • Ability to make accurate quantity surveys and to estimate the cost of materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors’ work, ascertaining that all areas have been accounted for prior to submitting estimate for review;
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of integrity, loyalty, and honesty – not divulge to outside parties information of a confidential nature pertaining to the company’s operations, finances, or bids;
  • Ability to get along well with people and communicate in a professional manner with Owners, Inspectors, Architects, Engineers, Consultants, and other having a direct interest in a project being constructed or performed;

Fuel Site Superintendent

We are seeking a qualified Fuel Site Superintendent to provide both project supervision and hands on work activities within our Fuel-Related Construction Service Line.  The individual in this role is responsible for directing crews in proper fuel system and piping installation and performing work alongside the team at various sites across Oregon and Washington.  The candidate must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of regulatory compliance, safe installation procedures, and an ability to lead and manage multiple field crew members.  The successful candidate will report to the AEC Project Manager.

Duties:

  • Organizes, coordinates, and supervises the work of craft employees on fuel-related construction projects;
  • Determines work priorities based on design documents, plans, and specifications and coordinates work activities within the project area;
  • Assists the Project Manager is developing the work approach and cost estimate as well as obtaining quotes from subcontractors and vendors;
  • Assist the Project Manager is determining weekly and daily resource allocation associated with equipment, manpower, materials etc.
  • Performs hands on, physical construction work in the field whenever necessary to complete work;
  • Maintains strict daily reports, safety inspections, and other field documentation;
  • Maintains cost records on work performed and materials used on site;
  • Must be able to operate heavy equipment and necessary tools to perform the work; and
  • Maintains and updates the project scheduling based in work performance.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent;
  • Minimum five (5) years in the construction or fuel industry;
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience in construction;
  • Extensive knowledge of fuel system and installation procedures;

AEC is seeking Fuel and Mechanical Laborers to perform various physical labor activities as needed on heavy construction projects, with an emphasis on our Fuel-Related Construction Service line. The ideal candidate will be exceptionally detail-oriented and have a great deal of common sense to bring to the team. This role also requires that a candidate be capable of safely bending, walking, standing and lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly, in order to perform safely and efficiently in proper fuel systems and piping installations on various jobs throughout Oregon and Washington. Candidates must demonstrate a strong work ethic, and have the ability to follow detailed instructions quickly and efficiently. Candidates must show proof of a valid driver’s license. Heavy Equipment Operator

AEC is seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to perform safe equipment operations on large construction projects. The successful candidates must have proven experience (preferably 1-2 years minimum) operating and maintaining heavy equipment, including:

Preference may be given to applicants holding a current CDL.
